Does anyone actually know exactly when this ends? Is it midnight on the 31st GMT/UTC?

I have a feeling it will come down to who is on it right at the end, so it would be good to know when that is and in what timezone!

I don't know when it ends, but they currently say "3 days", so I'm guessing it ends at the last minute of Jan 31?

I'm currently sending out a newsletter to our list encouraging people to vote. Our list size is unfortunately pretty small (we don't have many newsletters, since our community is here), but I suppose everything helps.

When you look through the members list for this forum, there are a lot of people who have never posted. That does not mean they are not using PW, of course, but it might mean they rarely come into the forum and therefore do not know the competition is going on.

Great to see lots of new votes and tweets coming in. Thanks to everyone that's been voting and tweeting–keep it up! If you haven't yet voted, now is a good time to get your vote in as we've got just 2 days left.

How big of a player is Bitnami anyways? Before this bullshit contest a had never heard from them. Gonna give it one last shot to muster some votes.

Same here, been watching the contest early this morning. Having doubts about ametys votes with unique ip's and bitnami being capable of detecting click fraud. Votes for ametys are questionable speeding. Send out an email to my friends to spread that email to their friends for speeding up voting.

You already voted for this application!  bweugh....

Your IP already voted for this application, not you. Funny system, if my router renews the IP with the internet provider I can vote again, but in exchange, the new owner of my old IP can't. Today I'm working at the library, so I'm free to vote again. Soon I will make a coffee break and might as well take the computer to have yet another vote. Yes, clever voting system this from Bitnami...

Greetings,

I think it's pretty clear that the voting for this doesn't "add up" properly. Part of the game here, it appears, unfortunately, is to find ways to vote multiple times. We're actually doing well comparatively: think how the people at Silverstripe must feel right now.

Hey, at my local mall there's Best Buy, Apple Store, Radio Shack, Verizon Store, Brnes & Noble, and others. Just saying...

Thanks,

Matthew

Not necessarily. If only 3 of their people took the day of to continuously renew their dynamic IP and vote, let's say it takes 20 seconds to get a new IP and 10 seconds to vote, they would have 6 votes in each minute. Not saying this is what is happening, but you don't even need a script for that. This could fall into trying to "game the contest for your app" but who can say that it's the owner of the application and not some crazy fans doing it?

I can't even vote on my (old) android phone, cause their website doesn't really work on it. Telling them on twitter gave no answer. I also have dynamic ips but can't vote multiple times, even on other computer or browsers.

      Hi,
Could anyone advise me on the following system requirements, which I am missing for ProcessWire installation:
DO (pdo_mysql) is required (for MySQL database)
Fail: GD 2.0 or newer  Fail: JSON support ZipArchive support was not found. This is recommended, but not required to complete installation.

During the install process I can never get to Step 4 for setting up an admin account.
It creates the database and in the screen it shows it installed the database and imported the SQL
and under that it shows "Profile Import" but nothing else.
I have the same result with master & dev branch.
I looked in the database and do not see a user table of any kind, unless it has some other name than "users"

      Hi everyone,
I can't get my head around this, so maybe someone can help: I want to know how install the dev branch of processwire with composer.
I use laragon and the "quick create" function and there you can run composer like this: "composer create-project processwire/processwire %s". OK, this is working, so I will get the master branch from it, but how about dev? I found some examples for laravel on this question, but no luck with it. Here some examples:
      composer create-project processwire/processwire %s --prefer-dist --stability=dev composer create-project processwire/processwire:dev %s composer create-project processwire/processwire:dev %s --stability=dev composer create-project processwire/processwire:dev %s --prefer-dist --stability=dev composer create-project processwire/processwire:dev-master %s --prefer-dist --stability=dev composer create-project processwire/processwire:dev-branch %s --prefer-dist --stability=dev composer create-project processwire/processwire:@dev %s --prefer-dist --stability=dev and so on... Maybe someone got this already and would like to share?

      Hi,
I'm a System Administrator responsible for DevOps in our Company. We're trying PW in a single client project atm and experience some glitches with DevOps-/Workflow.
We have a small team of developers that need to work with the same code base. They all need to be able to develop locally and deploy to a preview/staging environment.
Our Toolstack contains git for versioning, chef/vagrant or docker for local development/testing and Jenkins for building assets and automatic deployment to the staging-site.
There's several challenges / glitches in this process that makes me think that ProcessWire hadn't been developed for a use case like ours and is much more intended to be used by single developers that work right on the production system.
Can you advise me on a suitable workflow?

There's problems with the assets/files dir that must be shared between the staging website and local environments of our developers.
We're right now working with symlinks on the staging system that helps to preserve the direcory when deploying from the master branch. but now we tend to use nfs-shares so devs can collaborate with a shared directory.

The local docker containers can use the same target (the nfs) from inside the containers. But is that the way it needs to be done? Really?
There's so much work that needs to be done to fit ProcessWire in a DevOps Workflow that we tend to decide to switch to another CMS.

Any suggestions or hints that i might have missed. Am I wrong or is PW really not meant to be used this way. I

Hello. I'm not new to Processwire (I've been using it on a Mac environment for multiple site builds), but I am new to installing it on a Windows environment. I have unsuccessfully installed Processwire 3.0.62 both via downloaded zip file and GitHub on my Windows machine. The Site Installation Profile and Compatibility Checks are successful, and I am able to get past the MySql Database screen. However, this is where the installation process stops (step 3). The Test Database and Save Configuration screen says my database connection was successful and the configuration was saved to ./site/config.php and that's it, but I know from my ProcessWire experience I should also see fields for setting up the admin login etc. on this screen. I can't go any further after this. I've redone this process multiple times. I am running XAMPP, if that helps. Any clue what could be stopping the installation process?
