PDF Issue

Let me preface this by stating I am a very basic user of PW. The site I am responsible for maintaining was created for my employer by a group of college students for course credit. That being said, I've done fine for the past five years. This week I have been attempting to add a PDF to a page where PDF's existed. I go through the normal steps, choose the file, it shows that it has been 100% uploaded, I hit save and then it's gone. I've tried different PDF's to see if it was an issue with the actual file, and I've tried adding PDF's to other pages, and have the same issue. I've not made any changes to settings. I've scoured the internet trying to find a solution, without any luck. Please help!

Do you see any errors on the log files? You can go on the top menu to Setup > Logs, and you can see if there are any errors there that might give a clue. Try uploading and checking if there are any recently updated log file.

In addition to what @elabx suggested: have you looked into the browser's developer console to see if there is more information about the problem (console message, HTTP reply)? Is the file actually saved in the file system (/site/assets/files/[PAGEID]/ folder)?

Also, it may be worth increasing the value for the max_input_vars setting in php.ini. I remember that I encountered a similar issue to yours because of that setting.

Thank you so much for the response, but I don't have that option.  From the Setup tab the only options are Templates and Fields. I manage the site by logging in through a web address (nameofsite/mvadmin/). I'm omitting our web address so I don't create any other issues.

Your user might have access permission restriction, do you have any another account passed on by the devs? A "superadmin" account is what you should be looking for so you have better access to logs and the whole system information.
