The %= operator matches part words (which can be desirable) but all the characters in the search string must be in the given order in the searched fields. When I want to match part words I will usually explode() on the space character and then match against each word as a separate clause in the selector. $selector = ''; $search_terms = $sanitizer->selectorValue($input->get->search); if($search_terms) { $search_terms = preg_replace("/\s+/", " ", $search_terms); // replace multipl
