  1. Im trying to redirect a logged in user back to his own user page if he tries to access another member page, but i can´t get it to work. It will redirect back to the correct url but then i get browser error? "The page redirects incorrectly, Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this location in a way that prevents completion." <?php $userloggedinname = $user->name; $pagename = $page->name; { $session->redirect( "{$pages->get(1)->httpUrl}medlemmar/" . $userloggedinname ); } ?> also i tried this but same result $userloggedinname = $user->name; $pagename = $page->name; if (!$userloggedinname === $pagename) { $session->redirect("{$pages->get('/')->url}medlemmar/{$userloggedinname}"); } I have created another user template similar to this post https://processwire.com/blog/posts/processwire-core-updates-2.5.14/#multiple-templates-or-parents-for-users So my users is now under Home/Members/MemberX I´m on localhost. Also i if a user is logged in, the user can edit other users aswell 😞 so my goal is also to hide/restrict users to edit or access the processwire front end user edit page. I am building a separate edit on the front end user custom page that also is the memberX page, Home/Members/MemberX. Any suggestions? Please help..
  2. Im building a site where members can hopefullly sign up, login, and have a front end user page that that they can edit and also post new for example entries/pages to an auction for example. I have created an alternative user page based on this post. https://processwire.com/blog/posts/processwire-core-updates-2.5.14/#multiple-templates-or-parents-for-users So my new template is "member" with the parent "members". This is where all my new user will end up but they will also have a parent under the regular users page. I have created a form from "frontedituser" module. So now the users can signup and login from localhost/userarea/logga-in. But the problem is that once the user is logged in they also can access other users pages with the parent home/medlemmar/.. I want only the logged in user to be able to visit the users profile page.. home/medlemmar/testuser1 for example. I have also tried to get you an overview of everything in the attached image. If you have any clues or have some other/better solutions please let me know.. /thanks.
  3. We frequently end up with people creating either multiple logins (one per year, with a different employee now in charge of managing the account) or different accounts for different aspects of their engagement (one as a speaker, one as a sponsor/customer), and we'd like to come up with a way to merge the users into one login. It probably doesn't matter for the method, but the customer user would be the login we want to keep, so that they remain associated with their PadLoper order. Aside from opening the users in two different windows and copy/pasting one to the other (or building an API code to do this -- CAREFULLY), does anyone have a method for merging two pages/users that already exist? Thanks in advance!
  4. I have this "editor" role, that has the "user-admin-all" permission. I tried several times, doing different things sets of permissions, but I can't make a user with this role being able to make another user an "editor" too. PW disables the "editor" checkbox. I read the documentation 3 times that my eyes cannot see what I'm missing anymore. Any clues?
  5. Hi all, I've noticed that, when creating new users for clients, the chosen admin theme is not saved. For example, I create a new user select Reno or UIKit as the theme at point of creation and save. When logging in that user for the first time the admin theme is back to default. Changing it again and saving corrects this. Anyone else noticed this or is it a known bug at the moment? CMS V 3.0.156. Thanks!
  6. Hi! I've just discovered Processwire and I'm absolutely loving how clean it is. Especially with the full control over what it outputs. Excuse me if this is a really stupid question. What happens if a user wants to insert multiple images into the blog field? In other words Shift+Click all the images attached to a specific page in and insert. It seems I can insert one at a time but not multiple. Based on the above, I want to rebuild my website. I'm a photographer (ex php dev 2004) and plan also to target websites at other photographers. So inserting multiple images into blog posts is a key part. I'd like to output that to something like UIkit or some kind of Masonry Gallery script. Any thoughts would be fantastic please. Thank you. Greg. I'm an ex PHP developer now photographer, now thanks to Corona and not photo work, a rusty PHP developer ?
  7. Hello, this maybe a simple question, but it bothers me for a while now: There used to be a warning, if two or more user try to edit the same page. But ever since AdminThemeUIkit I haven't seen it any more. Is this a bug or are there special circumstances under which the warning will be displayed? If I am logged-in in the same browser with one default and one privat window, I don't see this warning. But also different browsers on different machines in the same network don't see this warning. I was looking for the blog post on which this feature was announced, but couldn't find it anymore. We had the case, that two people were writing a text for the same page, but after person A saved the page first, the text of the person B was lost. I know we could have used ProDrafts for this case, but it shouldn't happen in the first place. I would appreciate some feedback. ? Regards, Andreas
  8. I have 100+ spam/Russian user accounts on a semi-test site. Is deleting them one by one the only option? Is there no way to select a whole page of spam user accounts and batch delete them?
  9. I have a website that allows users to create their personal "website" (a page with sub-pages). Users shall be able to: Log in (frontend and/or admin), Edit "their" page(s) - I am using the "Page Edit Per User"-module (https://modules.processwire.com/modules/page-edit-per-user/) to grant access to the relevant pages Create child pages - possible? Users shall not be able to see other pages in the admin interface - "Admin Restrict Page Tree" may do the trick (https://modules.processwire.com/modules/admin-restrict-page-tree/)? Frontend editing shall be possible - I am considering "Fredi" (https://modules.processwire.com/modules/fredi/) for this. The challenge is that it takes a lot of modules and configuration. Is there a way to set this up that doesn't require a lot of configuration for each new user?
  10. Thought I'd show some work in progress modules. Subscribers https://github.com/benbyford/Subscribers has functions for logging in new users, added with new subscriber role bulk export the subscriber users to comma delineated SubscriberList (submodule) module adds an admin page to view your subscribers and page through them, or export WireMailChimp https://github.com/benbyford/WireMailChimp (though I need to change the name on github) Implements https://github.com/drewm/mailchimp-api adds any user save to a mailchimp list settings for API and List id only adds users that have a checked email_subscribe field to true
  11. Hello, having trouble getting PW to save my user or field in cron hook. It seems to report the same field info each time unchanged. It should be counting down in seconds. public function init() { // set to every30Seconds in settings $this->defaultInterval = $this->cron_check; // add hooks to CRON $this->addHookAfter("LazyCron::{$this->defaultInterval}", $this, 'checkUserSubscription'); } public function ___checkUserSubscription(HookEvent $e){ // seconds since last lazycron $seconds = $e->arguments[0]; $log = wire('log'); $field = $this->exclusiveRole; // users with specific role and field $users = $this->users->find("roles=$field"); foreach ($users as $user) { // get stored time $currentTime = $user->get($this->fieldName); // if time not null if($currentTime){ // evalute stored time minus time past $resultTime = intval($currentTime) - intval($seconds); $log->message("result ".$resultTime); // save user page $user->set($this->fieldName, $resultTime); $this->users->save($user); } } }
  12. HELLO! having user Role issues. I've got a Role: members and a template that is set to only allow view of Members and to redirect anyone else to / but id redircts Member users still currently, and only alows people to view the page if the template is set to view on the guest role also. Any help would be appreciated. I'm running ProcessWire 3.0.62
  13. Hi, I am hoping to be able to use processwire for a charity with over 900 members and about 90 interest groups. One of the deciding factors (and there are many) is whether I would be able, as the admin, to add all my existing members, all the interest groups and all the group membership data programatically. As you might imagine, I would not want to do this by hand. I have written data upload scripts for a 'home brewed' experimental site but would much prefer to use processwire as the foundation of our site, if possible. Many thanks.
  14. I'm trying to understand how I could have users log in as "members", provide them with a customized experience, but still serve them cached pages? For example let's say I have 3 roles Guest Member SuperUser And let's say I have a NavBar type component that has a menu. Plus it has "log in!" if guest, or "logged in as Mike Smith" I would want guests to see a cached site with guest-only page access. Members should also see cached pages, but their menu may have access to members-only pages or fields or information. Furthermore they might have a "logged in as Mike Smith" element. SuperUsers can stay uncached. How does one go about creating that cache so that visitors aren't constantly re-creating the menu? Or that when "Sally Baker" logs in, she doesn't see a homepage that is cached for "Mike Smith" with all his elements? Thank you in advance for any replies.
  15. In PW I created a user 'tester' and gave the access to create edit and new. Issue is I'm unable to see 'edit' link in front of each page link and pages that i want to edit is already created. any help in this will be great help. Thank you.
  16. In my world, Super Users / Editors should only be able to work with Pages and administer users. Everything else is the domain of the web master. The purpose is to prevent technically inexperienced editors from destroying core elements of a site, such as fields and templates. That leaves me with the question, how to deny Super Users access to Setup, Modules and Roles / Permissions? PS: May I also suggest that it shall be possible to set Permission for each of the main menu items - including their sub-menu items.
  17. I've a simple scenario, i want to add two users "content_creator" & "content_publisher" content_creator can add new pages, edit them(only edit not publish) and view only where content_publisher can publish the unpublished pages after reviewing. Thank you.
  18. Sorry folks if this is obvious to most and I missed something in the docs or here in the forum, but, I have cheerfully used code such as: if($user->isLoggedin()) { echo " loggedIn"; } else { echo " notLoggedIn"; } in PW 2.x sites. Now on a v3 site I am finding even the most basic test to see if the viewer is logged in or `isSuperuser()` is not giving an error but simply doing nothing - not evaluating. For example, the top of a typical template reads: <?php namespace ProcessWire; if($user->isLoggedin()) { echo " loggedIn"; } else { echo " notLoggedIn"; } I have `debug` turned on. Is there something obvious I have missed, perhaps a step required for v3 that's not required for v2 to allow access to $user data? Thanks for any pointers.
  19. Hi, How can I display, on every page of my site, what roles can view that pages template, based on what is checked in settings>templates>template-name>ACCESS TAB? I've only gotten as far as displaying the name of the current template: echo $page->template->get('name'); But I'm stuck here. Tried things like $page->template->get('permissions'); but I guess it's a bit more complicated than that. Hope someone van point me in the right direction. Cheers.
  20. Is there a way to restrict logins for users so that one user can't be loggedin in two places at the same time? e.g. auto logout user after inactivity (of say 15 minutes..?), or logout action and disallow login if user still "logged in" somewhere?
  21. hey there, i'm using processwire for the first time, so maybe it's a dumb question. but i'm trying to have an options field which values are the users of the processwire. i don't need the values to be displayed, it's just for the administration of the page. but each time a new user is created / a user is deleted the options field should be updated automatically. is something like that possible?
  22. I am trying to rewrite Soma's suggestion here to export fields from the users database to a cvs file, with variations like this: $array = $users->explode(function($item){ ...etc. And $array = $users->find('start=0')->explode(function($item){ ... But keep getting 'Call to a member function ... on a non-object' errors. I guess $users is the non-object? I am trying to use this within a function, that is called with a button click. Is $users not available within a function? I see there are new export/import features coming up - great! - but it is all about $pages. Should $users work the exact same way? This works as demo starting point. Now I just have to replace the $list with something from $users:
  23. I'd really like Processwire to have a robust page based permissions system rather than just template based out of the box. If the page tree is compared to a file system, it would be nice to be able to set owner (user), group (role) and public permissions on a page and have this propagate to sub-pages unless explicitly over-ridden. With a large site, it's quite possible to have multiple sections that use the same templates, but where editing needs to be assigned to different people, for different parts of a site. I've seen some proofs of concept that have never been updated or maintained, so I'm sure it can be done, but this is a bit of a show-stopper for me with an otherwise excellent CMS. I might be able to have a go at something myself, but since this is security related, and I haven't had a go at module development before, it would be really handy to have something robust that just works.
  24. Hi, I'm sure this is maybe in the works already, given that findMany() is a recent addition to the API, but having this (and the other new find options) available to $users would be a great addition. Cheers, Chris NB Communication
  25. Hi all, I discovered Processwire a little over a week ago and have been playing around with it ever since. Going through the tutorials, creating templates, pages, etc. and see what a nice system it is. However, I'm led to believe that's it's not meant for user-centric sites, and by that I mean a site where you expect to have hundreds/thousands of users and expect them to log in, update their profiles, submit content, create galleries, message each other, chat in the Forum, get email notifications, etc. etc., you get the idea. I was trying to update the Profile page last night by adding fields for First Name, Last Name, Profile Pic, and a bunch of others and realized that it's not that easy to do. There's not even a template.php file for the Profile page. Am I just not seeing it because I'm so inexperienced with the CMS? Or, is Processwire really geared more towards sites where not much user interaction is expected? thanks, Ray
