  1. I created custom admin page with link in top menu and set template for it. But opening it has another admin theme, not like is used in core admin pages. So here is two screen shots. Does anybody know how to solve it. And one more thing)) I included just small peace of code in this custom template for my admin page: <?php namespace ProcessWire; require($config->paths->adminTemplates . 'controller.php'); Thanks for advice!
  2. Hello everyone! I have searched the forum for quite a long time and I tried some solutions for my topic but nothing seems to work. I need to create a Settings Page and for a native feeling I want to create it under the main navigation on top. The settings page should hold the Main Logo, some styling and other settings. As I said nothing seems to work for me. I tried to create a Page under Admin with Admin Template and ProcessPageEdit but then I can't assign an image field. I don't want to write a module because it is to much work for only 3 settings. I hope someone of the forum could help me out! Have a nice day!
  3. Hey! I've been working on a Processwire installation (3.0.123) for a few days now and I must have made a big mistake this morning because the links in the admin's main menu no longer appear. This is not related to the admin theme, because the bug occurs with all themes (Default, Reno, Uikit). I tried to reinstall with the dev version (3.0.136), but the problem is still there. I also uninstalled all the modules I had added, without success. There is no error in the js console. I still can access/view/edit the pages by going through the admin/page list. Thanks in advance for your help!
  4. Inspired by this thread with a little nugget based on AOS by @benbyf to visually distinguish development systems from production ones, I wrote a small module that does the same and lets you adapt colors and text. Link to the github repo: AdminDevModeColors Version 0.0.1 is still very alpha and only tested on PW 3.0.124. Description This module lets you change the color for the top toolbar and add a small piece of text for development systems, so you are immediately you aren't working on production (and vice versa). The adaptions are made through pure CSS and applied if either the "Enable DEV mode" checkbox in the module's configuration is checked or the property $config->devMode is set to true in site/config.php. Works with Default, Reno and Uikit admin themes (though probably needs a lot of testing with different versions still). Since a screenshot says more than thousand words... Production system (unchanged): Dev system (Default admin theme): Dev system (Reno admin theme): Dev system (Uikit admin theme): Feel free to leave any feedback here and report any problems either in this thread or the github issue tracker.
  5. Hi folks, Quick one. Is it possible to add a favicon to the admin/CMS area? Without messing with anything core? Thanks, R
  6. Breadcrumb Dropdowns Adds dropdown menus of page edit links to the breadcrumbs in Page Edit. Installation Install the Breadcrumb Dropdowns module. The module requires ProcessWire >= v3.0.83 and AdminThemeUikit. There is a checkbox option in the module config that determines if the breadcrumb dropdowns will include pages that the user does not have permission to edit. Features/details The module adds an additional breadcrumb item at the end for the currently edited page. That's because I think it's more intuitive for the dropdown under each breadcrumb item to show the item's sibling pages rather than the item's child pages. In the dropdown menus the current page and the current page's parents are highlighted in a crimson colour to make it easier to quickly locate them in case you want to edit the next or previous sibling page. Unpublished and hidden pages are indicated in the dropdowns with similar styling to that used in Page List. If the option to include uneditable pages is selected then those pages are indicated by italics with a reduced text opacity and the "not-allowed" cursor is shown on hover. There is a limit of 25 pages per dropdown for performance reasons and to avoid the dropdown becoming unwieldy. If the current user is allowed to add new pages under the parent page an "Add New" link is shown at the bottom of the breadcrumb dropdown. If the currently edited page has children or the user may add children, a caret at the end of the breadcrumbs reveals a dropdown of up to the first 25 children and/or an "Add New" link. Overriding the listed siblings for a page If you want to override the siblings that are listed in the dropdowns you can hook the BreadcrumbDropdowns::getSiblingsmethod and change the returned PageArray. For most use cases this won't be necessary. Incompatibilities This module replaces the AdminThemeUikit::renderBreadcrumbs method so will potentially be incompatible with other modules that hook the same method. https://modules.processwire.com/modules/breadcrumb-dropdowns/ https://github.com/Toutouwai/BreadcrumbDropdowns
  7. Hey guys, Thought I would share a quick preview of Designme. A module we (Eduardo @elabx and I) are building for visually laying out your templates/edit screens. 🙂 This is a really quick, zero polish screen grab. FYI. Video #2 - UPDATE This new video shows the following features in Designme: Re-arranging fields via Drag & Drop Re-sizing fields via Dragging. Adjusting field settings - with live refresh. Working on "hidden" fields while Designme is active. Creating New fields. Deleting fields. Creating/Deleting Tabs. Dragging fields between tabs. Creating fieldsets. Tagging/Un-tagging fields. Fields without headers expand when hovered (like checkboxes). Live filtering of fields in the sidebar. Ability to adjust (all) Template settings without leaving Designme. Template File Tree Editing Template files source code with ACE Editor. Editing Multiple files with ACE Editor. (New Tabs) Saving files. Techie stuff Fields load their own js/css dependancies. *ready to use on creation (*most fields) Everything happens via Ajax to ProcessPageEdit (via module + hooks). Designme has a JS api that you can use. All actions trigger events. We would love any detailed feedback on what you see so far. If you are interested in testing Designme. Let me know below. 🙂 Video #1.

  9. The basic Processwire workflow assumes that I (as an Editor) want to save new Pages in draft mode - and therefore new pages are always set to unpublished by default. To publish the page, it is necessary to actively press "Publish", otherwise the Page will not be visible. The workflow is: Add new Page Status is now "Unpublished: Not visible on site." Press Publish - the page is now visible on site I want to publish pages right away (without having to press Publish). Where is that configured? ProcessWire 3.0.123 Uikit v3 admin theme (0.3.0)
  10. Hello, I'm getting a JS error in the admin backend when editing pages with template basic-page as non superuser: TypeError: a.ProcessPageList is not a function in InputfieldPageListSelect.min.js Investigating the JS, I found that the ProcessPageList function is not available on the page when I am logged in as a non superuser. The function is defined in /wire/modules/Process/ProcessPageList/ProcessPageList.min.js which is not loaded when logged in as non superuser. When logged in as a superuser, the file gets loaded. I have no fancy permission settings for that template for the role admin that the non superuser belongs to: This started happening on a site that is in development but online for some time now. I can't say which actions might have caused this. But it is a consistent error only for this one template. The site is running on 3.0.42 EDIT: The inputfield triggering the error is an image field (in fact there are 2 of them in that template) Any pointers to potential causes for this problem would be much appreciated. EDIT: The problem is not related to any file changes. When I run the same install with a DB backup, the error disappears. So it must be something that has changed in the DB. Trying to diff the DB dumps and see if I can find anything suspicious
  11. I have a website that allows users to create their personal "website" (a page with sub-pages). Users shall be able to: Log in (frontend and/or admin), Edit "their" page(s) - I am using the "Page Edit Per User"-module (https://modules.processwire.com/modules/page-edit-per-user/) to grant access to the relevant pages Create child pages - possible? Users shall not be able to see other pages in the admin interface - "Admin Restrict Page Tree" may do the trick (https://modules.processwire.com/modules/admin-restrict-page-tree/)? Frontend editing shall be possible - I am considering "Fredi" (https://modules.processwire.com/modules/fredi/) for this. The challenge is that it takes a lot of modules and configuration. Is there a way to set this up that doesn't require a lot of configuration for each new user?
  12. I always seem to get this warning on every new install of PW on my Ubuntu 14 box with Digital Ocean. The servers are usually based in the UK and I was wondering if I should be adding something other than the below in the config? Is there a UK based locale code? Quick Google didnt come up with much. Warning: your server locale is undefined and may cause issues. Please add this to /site/config.php file (adjust “en_US.UTF-8” as needed): setlocale(LC_ALL,'en_US.UTF-8'); Added to the config file: setlocale(LC_ALL,'en_US.UTF-8');
  13. Hey All. I need some help with a problem relating to users permissions to create pages and selectively remove a "new" button. I have a container page called "Sektionen" to keep Sektions of pages. These sections are created within different pages via a pagetable field. Now I want to change the way new sections can be created in a way that they can ONLY be created via the pagetable-field, not via the "new" button in the pages tree (see screenshot - this button should be removed). I think I can not change this in the templates settings and wanted to ask if anybody of you has an idea how to accomplish that? Thanks a lot!
  14. Hello! I am trying to get some extra css-file into my admin templates. I managed to modify my admin.php to this: <?php namespace ProcessWire; require($config->paths->adminTemplates . 'controller.php'); echo "<link rel='stylesheet' type='text/css' href='" . $config->urls->templates . "css/admin.css'>"; By doing so, the css <link> is added to the very end of each parsed admin-html. (right AFTER the closing </body> tag.) That causes some trouble. e.g. the page tree is not displaying any more. Although, other pages are working - like the edit form of a page. My question: is there a correct way of adding my extra css to the admin area? Thanks for you help! Stephan
  15. I have a module here https://bitbucket.org/chimmel/pw-import-shorthand that I am using to create an image field like so: $mf[] = [[ 'tags' => $tag, 'name' => $pre.'logo', 'type' => wire('modules')->get('FieldtypeImage'), ],[ 'label' => 'Logo', 'columnWidth' => 50, 'inputfieldClass' => 'InputfieldImage', ]]; Yet upon its creation, initially, when I try creating a page of a template including it, it says that the field must first be configured. Once I go and save the field as-is, everything's honkey dory. It's just an annoyance, with every image field. I figured it would be the required inputfieldClass field field, but as you can see, that's included up in there, and it's still not good to go off the bat. Any clue as to why?
  16. Hi! I have a big problem with a client of mine. I have to do something that i don't do very often with processwire, and i'm very afraid that i'm not gonna able to do it. So i write to search some help from you experts. The website that i'm gonna create will have a database with infos about users. This users are not the actual registrered users, but possible users. I'll try my best to explain this. What i will have is a datasheet in the database with infos about all the users (name, surname, fiscal Code) that can register to the website. So during registration the website is confront with this database of people, and accept or not your registration to the website. Now. The problems are: the client need a page in the CMS to insert this people in the first place (Custom Admin Page?) in the database. I read what i need to create it, but i don't understand what i need to do next. What i need to do for reading and writing to the database, with data, directly from a custom admin page in processwire? The other thing is. I can do this control during registration? I Can extend fields in the user account? I'm completely in your hands.
  17. Hi guys I'm relatively new to PW and just finished developing a page for a client. I was able to include all necessary functionality using the core fieldtypes but now I it seems that I need to extend them with a custom one. What I need is a simple button, that copies the absolute url (frontend not PW-backend) of the page which is currently edited to the clipboard. As this feature is only needed inside a specific template, I tend to use a custom fieldtype which provides this feature. I've been looking inside the core modules code (eg. FieldtypeCheckbox.module) but I don't really get the structure of it and how its rendered to the admin page. I also didn't find a lot of tutorials covering custom fieldtypes. Maybe some of you could give me some tips on how to write a basic custom fieldtype that renders a button which copies the value of page->httpUrl() to the clipboard using JS. Thanks!
  18. Hi there, I'm developing locally on my laptop and we have a testing server where I deploy via rsynch + running a DB Dump script. (Exported via MySQLWorkbench) I've noticed that the admin password becomes invalid every time a DB Dump script is run on the server. Is this possibly because there's a hash and/or salt stored alongside the password and my local one is not valid on the server? Are there better practices of synching between my local Processwire and the server instance to prevent the admin password being invalidated?
  19. I'm coding my first module now. I've just managed to add a button to the page edit form but am not content with its placing. Is there any way to place it just next to the input field? I've marked the desired place with the arrow on the attached screenshot. My current code: $this->addHookAfter('ProcessPageEdit::buildFormContent' , $this, 'addButton'); public function addButton($event){ $form = $event->return; $f =$this->modules->InputfieldSubmit; ... $form->insertAfter($f, $form->get("bgg_id")); } "bgg_id" is the name of the targeted field.
  20. Hi guys! What do you think about something like this? Because I use this option regularly in the Windows File Explorer breadcrumb and it's very useful. The drop-down menu can display only published/visible child pages. I've tried to find how to do it as a module, but I'm not a coder with enough skills for that ... or I don't know if I can use hooks to do that ...
  21. Hey all, I am working on a website and I want to style the login page, but I'm a bit confused. I want either the existing login page styled in my own way using some CSS (I guess I prefer that) or I want to create a custom page with a form to login. (Which I could style too). I used the code from Ryan and Renobird posted here - which works great - but that doesn't replace the original login page. Is there a way to some sort of 'disable' the original login? I hope my question is clear and thanks in advance, matsn0w
  22. Is the UIKit admin theme supposed to look like this when editing fields and templates? It seems like I did something wrong.
  23. Wondering if anyone can help me get past a sticking point. I'm setting up a Processwire instance in a multiple site setup (using Soma's multisite) to run several related websites. I am getting stuck on the tagging system that I am using (adapted from a standalone PW site I'm running). I have the tags themselves set up as Pages, and the Tags field on the related pages is and ASMselect field that populates based on the pages underneath /tags/ in the tree. This system works fine on the standalone site. Where I am running into issues, is with trying to use them with the multisite setup. Specifically, choosing the proper subset of pages for tags on the ASMselect input tab. I want to choose only the tag pages for the site in question. My tree is laid out like this: Multisite / | site1.com | subsections | site2.com | subsections | Tags | site1.com | tagA | tagB | site2.com | tagC So far, the best I've been able to do is to use 'parent.has_parent=/tags/' in the Custom Find or Selector String portion of the Selectable Pages section of the input. This gives me the options of choosing tagA, tagB, or tagC on a page under site1.com. What I'd like to find is a selector that allows me to only see tagA, tagB as options from a page under site1.com and only tagC on a page under site2.com. Elsewhere in my php templates, I'm using $page->rootParent->title to set the proper scope and URLs for things, but I have not found a way to get that to work in this field input setup. I am trying to avoid creating specific fields and templates for each site, as unified templates were part of the purpose of going with a multisite install. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
  24. I want the admin to select one of the child of a parent in "page reference" as radio buttons, but it comes out empty here is my hook in site/ready.php $wire->addHookAfter('InputfieldPage::getSelectablePages', function($event) { if ($event->object->hasField == 'childLinks') { $page = $event->arguments('page'); $parent = "parent=" . $page->path; $event->return = $event->pages->find($parent); } });
  25. Note - I've not set this up, I'm not experienced, I'm probably omitting much relevant information as a result so this post will be a bit of a work in progress. The answer may be on the forum here - If it is I can't tell for lack of experience (I've looked). I cannot for the life of me get an install to work and I've tried a lot, and I've asked others who're also struggling but I'll try posting here before another CMS as I've heard it's nice. Info about the server : https://gist.github.com/65086fbc7b5dd03abd0f0461b9c0ec8b I'm using the `stable` version of Processwire.
