  1. Hello, Just a little contribution (in french) about how (hard) configure processwire template files to integrate Google Authorship notions in Processwire. http://blog.itanea.fr/posts/configurer-processwire-pour-utiliser-la-notion-d-authorship-de-google/ See you,
  2. I have just finished and uploaded new layout of the MSSOOnline website. http://mssoonline.org/ I used latest ProcessWire and HTMK Kickstart to develop this website for not-for-profit organization. This is another not-for-profit website I developed with ProcessWire CMS as volunteering work. I love ProcessWire so much that I keep creating website for free for charities!!! Please provide your feedback for improvement or to fix any issues.
  3. Hi guys, having a bit of a strange issue here - I've installed at least a dozen copies of process wire for various websites firstly on my localhost using MAMP and later transferring it to a server. I'm trying to install a fresh copy to my localhost, I go through the install process and get the success message as usual (see screenshot) but whenever I try to access /admin/ - it cannot be found. Any ideas?
  4. I've been really enjoying using Bohemian Coding's Sketch app for the past couple of months and recently I noticed their official user manual for Sketch is powered by ProcessWire! How cool is that?! http://www.bohemiancoding.com/sketch/help/
  5. I did a big beginner mistake. I've deleted MAMP PRO to use XAMPP and in the process of the uninstalation of MAMP PRO I deleted all my databases... Fortunately my projects are already live so I have a working copy on the FTP of my client. I would like to have all this data as it is online so it works local on my computer. This is working with a processwire CMS, the url is http://www.fem-k.com/ if in need... Please let me know how to solve this problem so I can go on playing with processwire on my computer. Thank you very much!!!
  6. Hi, I have a question about PW. For developing totally custom applications/extensions, maybe parse some data from other site or whatever, you should need to build new module. I reckon modules are extensions to PW. It is said that PW is CMF (Content management framework), that shows when you use it's API. But is it also any kind of framework for PHP, that comes in handy, when developing custom applications? Such as is Codeigniter or CakePHP? Or must be code written in pure PHP? Thanks. Best regards, Franci
  7. Hello, I wish to create a forum as it's one of the features of the social network that I'm building with ProcessWire. It'll be much like yahoo answers. It will have questions & registered users can answer the questions as well as ask new questions. In the end a best answer will be chosen by the asker but I'm keeping this feature for future, right now I just need following: A way for registered users to ask question A way for registered users to answer question A way for all users to view all questions & answers As I'm not a very skilled or experienced php developer, also I'm new to ProcessWire, I'm totally clueless on how can I manage to make this. My initial thought was to modify & use comments system but I'm not sure how good this idea is. I'd love to hear your approach for this task. Thank you very much for your time.
  8. Hi, I am web designer and I want to learn PW by create simple e-commerce website. I've been search around to find solution, comparing every option & weight both it's advantage/disadvantage, I think most solutions out there is too complex or they already make lot of assumption, not to mention the more code means heavier page load. That's why I finally get conclusion that PW is the right answer. Well, the solution not answered yet, but I sense PW have the power to be there. Let say example, Ms. Turner is local bakery which have 50 product under 5 category. She don't need complex shipping since order could be pickup at store or using private delivery courier and of course She don't need sophisticated payment system or any other crap feature. Yes, there is customer for that kind solution, but not for Ms. Turner and hundred millions people out there. All she want is just simple website to accept order. I do aware that there's already tutorial out there, but it's just answer for specific solution. Not to mention how hard it's gonna be when this forum already have ton of pages. If You're not mind, I create this thread so everyone could learn from beginning especially for newbie or copy paste guy just like me to feel the power of PW. This thread would be tutorial creating e-commerce from scratch and the final goal is free theme both front page and admin page specially designed for Ms. Turner and hundred millions small business right there. Apeisa already make awesome module for PW and I already tested it, its work so wonderful so let's complement it. For starting point, let's start from designing the homepage. The content would be: Home - Header (logo, cart toolbar, search) Content - 3 Image Main slider - 6 Featured product -Footer - Quick Link - Social Network Link - Twitter Widget - Newsletter Subscribe What is the best practice from code perspective?
  9. EDIT I got it working by adding a Rewrite rule to htaccess to specify the correct root. I wonder what changed in Windows 8 making this necessary It seems that I am having some issues with ProcessWire when running locally on a WAMP environment (specifically Windows 8). I had a working Windows 7 AMP environment and ProcessWire apps were working with ease. After updating to Windows 8, Apache seemed to be throwing 403s all over the place. It turned out WIndows 8 uses IPv6 primarily so ::1 references needed to be added to the apache conf file in addition to 127.0.0.1 references. After this change, all of my other local sites (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc) started working again. However, my ProcessWire apps are still seeing issues. Basically I can navigate to and load the index page, but every other sub page results in a 403 (or 404 if I remove all Apache deny rules). I'm guessing something is off in ProcessWire's routing? Anyone have any insight on how pages are being served up and if there's a way to fix this? tl;dr Running Windows 8 AMP environment and ProcessWire is not serving up pages correctly
  10. Couple of recent sites I've created: http://www.theartofdining.co.uk/ - Pop up restaurant http://samhofman.co.uk/ - still life photographer
  11. Hi, I'm trying to build my own install file to be able to start every new PW install with a fixed number of fields, So far I've dumped my previous PW database into a .SQL file and included it in the install.sql, during the install it nicely imports all my database settings into my newly installed database but I do have a problem with the admin user, when I try to login I get a any ideas how I can fix this or copy a database into a new install profile?
  12. Hello everybody! I've actually created already a web that works perfectly with processwire. There only some dumb questions which I do not figure out by myself. This is one of them... I have a field called "contact" where obviously the client will insert her contact details. The client wants that if she inserts and email it will be a hyperlink. She doesn't need a form or anything too fancy. She would be ok with a mailto applied to it. The field is in this moment applied as a textarea. The details she has "Newlines to XHTML Line Breaks" applied. Is there a special way so I can apple a simple html link with a hyperlink with mailto bla bla bla. I would like the most simple workout as possible. Really thanks!!! Once this is finished and some other details I will show to the team!
  13. I am new to ProcessWire. I just came across it via searching for platforms. I am wanting to build a social site that users can register, activate account via email confirmation, and fill in profile. They will be basically be able to share photos and people can give them a like or dislike. Pretty simple principal but I don't have any clue how to even start that with ProcessWire if it's even possible. Any suggestions? I was going to build it using Symfony or CakePHP...something I know will work as a platform. Thanks in advance.
  14. I used the new module profile exporter. I love the idea! I followed the instructions correctly and detailed. I used processwire 2.1 to design and link the front end with the back end. All this was done with MAMP, it worked perfectly. So once I put it in the hosting I had to install processwire 2.2 as the instructions say. After this I just viewed it online and some things did not work visually. Some mistakes may be because of the hosting server, and other issues I dont know, and thats why I ask as maybe somebody had the same issue. These are some problems: 1. Random background image "home": I have a random image which is covering the whole home background. I'm using a javascript which selects an image from an array randomly. These images have the url assigned correctly as it works in my MAMP server with processwire. I do not know why this javascript wouldnt work. 2. PHP form: I have a php form which has its own url also. It gave me problems as I discovered it only works if its out of the folder of templates. Now it just does not work... 3. Extremely slow: I dont know if this is processwire, but maybe you can help me to know what could I do to solve this. 4. Shockwave crashes: I use soundcloud for the songs which are uploaded. So the widget is created with flash. I dont understand why it would crash, it only crashes when its online and not in the MAMP server. If you need to see the source and it helps this is the website at this moment: http://www.fem-k.com/ Thank you very much everybody, without you this wouldn't be possible! Dani
  15. Quick question! I have everything prepared. I created the web locally with my MAMP. So I have a web working perfectly with CMS processwire, locally. I want to upload this to a hosting server. I suppose I have to install again processwire in this server, or not?. UPloading all these files via FTP to the online server will be enough? Or if I upload via FTP all my files I will still have to create all the fileds again in the online hosting? Or will thee settings be automatic? Pleas let me know what I would have to do? Thank you very much! Dani
  16. I have this form in my html which works perfectly locally. Once I had this as a template my form doesnt work well. This has a calendar button available and here is the problem. I already had this php applied: <?php $myCalendar = new tc_calendar("date3", true, false); $myCalendar->setIcon("_php/calendar/images/iconCalendar.png"); $myCalendar->setPath("_php/calendar/"); $myCalendar->setYearInterval(2012, 2022); $myCalendar->dateAllow('2012-08-30', '2022-08-31'); $myCalendar->setDateFormat('j F Y'); $myCalendar->writeScript(); ?> This means that I would have to paste this code which I have applied to any inner url I have in the html such as this example: <input type="image" src="<?php echo $config->urls->templates?>_img/submit_button.png" id="input_img" name="submit" /> I've tried inserting only echo $config->urls->templates?. This way: <?php $myCalendar = new tc_calendar("date3", true, false); $myCalendar->setIcon("$config->urls->templates_php/calendar/images/iconCalendar.png"); $myCalendar->setPath("$config->urls->templates_php/calendar/"); $myCalendar->setYearInterval(2012, 2022); $myCalendar->dateAllow('2012-08-30', '2022-08-31'); $myCalendar->setDateFormat('j F Y'); $myCalendar->writeScript(); ?> If I wanted the url to work how should I do it with processwire?
  17. Hello, Just starting. I've tried to look to the files head.inc and foot.inc. I'm trying to find the way to assign text from CMS to the html. I already have applied this as a template and it works. I have the images working and all links working. In this website there are several different parts which I need to put text which can be transformed with PW. I need to do: Intro News About me Booking info Contact Therefore, as you can see there will be several independent text boxes. My html/css is a horizontal layout so everything is one one file index.php. Each div is a section. I think this is quite easy so please let me know... Thank you.
  18. Hi everyone, I refused to switch to another CMS for many years. I worked with a Perl based self-made CMS that produced no markup and provided the basic tools to fill templates with life. After being pointed to PW by a friend I finally made the switch since our CMS is dated and needs to much work to keep at a reasonable level (UTF8 support among things). PW is what we wanted our CMS to be! So I just released my first PW project into the wild: http://bmxrider.de I quickly found myself at home in PW since the workflow is just the one I was used to. I could never make myself use webforms to edit templates or even have my stylesheets in a DB. I used an approach similar to Ryan's described here: http://processwire.c...legate-approach , with a little modification to keep the amount of PHP in my templates to a minimum. My "home" template looks like this: <?php include('./tools.inc'); ob_start(); $news = $pages->find("parent=/news/,sort=-created,limit=3"); $videos = $pages->find("parent=/video/,sort=-created,limit=3"); $aktuelles = $pages->find("parent=/news/|/magazine/|/video/|/termine/,id!=$news|$videos,sort=-created,limit=5,"); include('./news.inc'); ?> <div id="content-sidebar"> <div id="content-left"> <?php include('./videos.inc');?> <?php include('./aktuelles.inc'); ?> </div> <?php include('./sidebar.inc');?> </div> <? $page->body = ob_get_clean(); include('./main.php'); ?> I'm already working on the next PW project and hope to switch all of our company's sites better sooner than later. Thanks for a great product and community! thomas Edit: I forgot to mention the PW credit: http://bmxrider.de/impressum/ ... and also forgot to mention that I my only problem with PW is that it's PHP based. Perl is just much more fun! But I guess I'll get over that ...
