  1. First of all I'm as new to ProcessWire (PW) as they come, so bear with me if I ask stupid questions with obvious answers. I started looking into PW because I'm looking for something that would take out some of the grunt work of building an applications, yet be flexible enough to be able to implement custom functionality. I'm trying to work out if PW is suitable for my needs, ... A the moment I'm trying to create an architecture for a web platform on which multiple websites/webshops (750-1000) for pharmacists will be run. The websites will have different types of information, obviously there will be the 'own' pages the pharmacists create themselves. But as pharmacists tend 'not to be computer people' there is also content provided by the platform to make the site look alive, as well as public health information provided by the goverment. I was wondering if there is a way to structure/set up PW so that they have full access to their own content, and limited access (basically chose to publish it or not) to the externally provided content. Also is there a way to have the templates/page for the own content located in their own folder, and the 'external ones' in a shared folder so that they don't have to be repeated 1000 times on the server (and if modifications need to be done, it only has to be done once as well). Sincerely, Jurgen
  2. Hello! I am using ProcessWire for a good three years now already, and I am really happy with the flexibility it provides. There is one thing though that bugs me. For a recent project, I need lots of templates. I already have a site/templates folder polluted with a package.json, yarn.lock, node_modules, errors, .eslintrc, .git and my entire build setup. And I thought: OK - when I am forced to use site/templates for templates, is it actually correct to put all my javascript, styles, components, functions, classes also there? I mean, at least this is what the default theme encourages (they put styles there also) I read into other posts covering this topic about having a sub folder for templates. Because even with the non-template files stored somewhere else, the template files are still too many. Unfortunately, they also discovered that this is not possible: Sub Directories for Templates Should all template files put under site/templates folder What are your ideas? I already thought about having a page field, that defines the template path from a dropdown, but with this I would only reinvent an already almost working wheel. Thank you for your inspiration. Best, Martin
  3. I'm interested to know a good approach to grouping pages, where one page may be in two different groups (but re-using the same page for easy client editing). To clarify for those familiar with Drupal, there I would probably use Taxonomies, Blocks and Context modules. A taxonomy term for each group would be attached to pages (nodes), much like product categories would be, and menus and links would use Taxonomies (the Context and Blocks for displaying different elements on page depending on which group was accessed, but I don't need this part now) . Example organisation as follows (this is not PW Tree): Home - Courses - - Course One - - Course Two - - Course Three - - Course Four - Adult Courses - - Course One - - Course Two - Junior Courses - - Course Two - - Course Three - - Course Four - Summer Courses - - Courses Three - Special Courses - - Course Four (The PW Tree would need to be with only one occurrence of each Course page) I'm keen on the cleanest solution, ideally not adding modules, and a PHP solution no problem (though if it can be within PW as-is, great)
  4. Hi all, So, I've got a site that's being migrated from Joomla (ouch) that has a bunch of pages at the root - i.e. http://site.com/page1 http://site.com/page2, etc I know I could just create these in the admin below the home page, but, as I've got dozens and more being added all the time, I'd rather keep them as sub pages under a generic structure page, which I'd call something like "Landing Pages". But, of course that would leave me with http://site.com/landing-pages/page1, etc I know I could add htaccess rules for each specific page, but non-devs will adding these pages, so that's not a good option. I've looked at Netcarver's URL Shortener module a bit, and that may be an option. But, ideally I'd be able to have it managed all from the page itself. What do you all think is the best way to manage this? Thanks. P.S. Working with Joomla has made me appreciate PW all the more. I'm sure it's good for some people but... yuch, not for me
  5. Hello, I have the following fields inside one page: title text: introduction text: news text: about me text: contact text: booking background images photos/video music Everytime I open the page index for admin purposes I get the same problem. Everything opens and its quite annoying. How do you change htis? Another question which is very important is that I want to have a detemined order of these fields. How do you do this?
