  1. Hello! I use PW 3.0.98 and I have frontend editing enabled for a PageTable Field. Somehow, when I double click the field in the frontend, the iframe in wich the content is displayed is very small (see screenshot). I couldn't find out if thats some CSS conflict or another problem. Any suggestions? Thanks, Andrej
  2. Hi all, I'm an absolute PW rookie, but starting to work my way through this alternative way of handling websites, thanks to your great documentation. Coming from the "regular" CMS world, where most systems provide something like editable layout templates and/or CSS editors in the backend, I'm trying to understand the concept of PW. Am I getting this right, that In the PW backend I "only" set up the fields, like e.g. headline and body, and then those field variables have to manually be added to a template file ($headline, $body) wrapped in the required hard-coded HTML markup and CSS ids and classes? Anke
  3. I'm using Processwire 3.0.61 with the site-regular profile and am in the process of browser/device testing for the template I'm working on. I've managed to get a consistent displaying of the site across Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari (both Windows and Mac checked but not Linux, yet) and Android (portrait orientation on SIII Mini). When I initially switch to landscape orientation on the SIII Mini the layout is consistently retained. I'm assuming that is because the device initially zooms the page rather than redraws the screen. However, as soon as I click on the menu icon the screen is redrawn in such a manner that the body of the template is offset by what looks like +10px or so (right and down) pushing the whole of the content off the screen to the right as well as down. Interestingly the shadow on the banner background image (set to fill width of screen using the cover attribute) remains in place where it should be. But there is also the wierd artifact that any horizontal rules appear twice (once where they should be and once offset again by what looks like the same amount as mentioned above). Nothing I've tried in terms of CSS3 has any effect so far. I'm wondering if anyone else has come across this issue. If so, could it be related to the UiKit3 css/js code? Any help would be appreciated.
  4. Hi all I am looking for a good solution to give my content area more variety. In output, think of the WordPress page builder plugins. I really like you can put together the content depending of what you want to say (visually). In other words, I don't like pages with one content column (text from top to bottom, maybe an image floated to the right, etc.). I know you can create different templates and use them. But still you are stuck to exactly those templates and their repetitive content flow. I had a look at the PageTable field and that was kind of what would be a good solution. I thought I create just content blocks (like a slider, accordion, two/three/four column block, parallax block, etc.) and put them on my pages together as I like. However, those blocks are stored as children and may interfere with actual children of that page, don't they? Any suggestions to get more rich content areas?
  5. Hi gang, Had a client request for very flexible layouts - imagine a page that you can adhocly add and remove widgets then add content to them. What strategies do people have for this type of thing. Usually I would create a set of templates, and add the fields to those templates. Or on a more complex site add some pages as widgets to a page. But to have a set of template "elements" and then choose them is beyond me.
  6. Hi I try to build a simple basic responsive layout / profile with pocket grid... So it would be great to set additional values as variables. IE conditional comments could be build by a module to generate the needed code. I would use $config->styles and $config->scripts to build a filenameArray with needed css and js files. But how could a add additional values like media attribute or IE condition? Any idea to keep it simple? Last site media query styles were hard coded at page template file (a templateFile template ) before output $config->styles ... Maybe the media queries stylesheets with additional media information could be saved in a (config) page, but need a field with two textfields (filename, media information). Which fieldtype should be used in such a case? repeater, ProField table, ...?
  7. This is 2 questions in one post; I hope that's permissable. 1: I'm trying to find a way to create a field whose value is a selector query, and at page time the field runs the query. This is very akin to http://processwire.com/talk/topic/1489-how-to-retrieve-possible-pages-list-in-a-page-field, but reducing code duplication and making it as natural as any other field. The Page input already allows for the query/snippet to provide possible _selections_ at page creation, but not a way to harness that query's results as a field. Am I making sense? I've not started digging in to the fieldtypes, and I see http://processwire.com/talk/topic/4079-input-field-for-dimensions/ may be a good place to start down this path, unless there's a module I missed that already addresses this. 2: I've seen some screenshots where creating a new Page from a template has a nice layout to the field entries. I am aware that you can specify the entry widths during declaration. However, is this an adjust/reload/repeat process to get some fields grouped together on the same line nicely, or is there a way of handling the field entry layout that I'm not aware of? If either of these questions seem addled in thought, it's me, not you. Thanks for any help, input, and advice you may provide!
