The doctor said that I have several protrusions in my lumbar spine. He warned me that if I keep this up for a few more months, I will be confined to a wheelchair for life.

In 2010 I was told something similar by my Neurosuegeon. He said that I would end up in a wheelchair if I continued my line of work.

I have disc degeneration, bilateral facet arthropy, and several disc bulges around L3 and L4.

I opted for surgery but the insurance plan I was on denied the procedure because it was too expensive, it was experimental, and at the time, I was too young. I have been dealing with back pain almost daily for over 10 years now.

A friend of mine told me that this profession is in high demand now. He says that programmers make a lot of money

I sincerely hope this is true!

  2. I am currently following this massive course: THE WEB DEVELOPER BOOTCAMP 2021 COMPLETELY REDONE

I have learned (the hard way) that I am drastically under-skilled as a freelance web developer.

If not on Udemy, what other online service or book are you using to further your skillset as a Developer?

Do you have any experiences with multiple forms one one page?

You could always argue the fact that a high percentage of users will be browsing with a mobile device. Thus it would be very ugly, difficult to navigate, and occupy tons of screen space with all those forms.

Ideally there should probably several form fields followed by a 'NEXT' button that progresses to the next screen to continue with form entry?! And perhaps a progress bar or a pagination representing which page they are on and how many in total -  giving an indication of progress?!

Wire Mail SMTP + Mailgun works well for me.

I signed up on Mailgun. Followed your directions. At the bottom of the 'Wire Mail SMTP' settings page, I ticked the box for "Test" and successfully sent myself a test email.

Now I just gotta test it with a dummy email. I stumbled upon this service at maildrop.cc ? ? ?

hhmm ... still waiting. shouldn't take this long.

Where can I see PW logs to see what the problem is?!

  5. My development environment is PopOS with a full LAMP stack (PHP 7.4.16 and Apache/2.4.46 if that matters).

I have my registration form all set with proper validation and sanitization.

I'm guessing I need some type of email server for this development portion to send out the test emails as I configure things?!

User 'Registers' on the site > email server sends email with validation link > member clicks link and POOF, they're a registered member of the site.

    What do you all recommend?

Do I have to jump through some crazy flaming hoops and thorny hurdles to install something locally? Or is there some new dazzling webapp or service that can provide me what I need?

  6. I am using the default UIKit inspired blog profile that comes bundled with ProcessWire installation. It has comments enabled for the blog articles.

My question (I hope I phrase it properly) When visitors leave a comment, i know it goes it has to be approved first. Question is: how am I alerted, as the admin, that there is a comment in queue?

I left treehouse and moved to udemey.com as I experience them more professional/friendly and they have a lot of offers.

Now only if I had $129.99 to spend ? I love udemy, i have used them before.

I take it you mean vanilla JavaScript?

    I think that's what I mean?

non-vanilla would be something like jQuery or Angular, right?

  8. For years I called myself a web developer, without really knowing much JavaScript.

Where are some good sites I can start my journey? Prefer something that has be building projects as I go.

I'm decent enough with HTML & CSS + PHP, but JavaScript is my weakness. I found these while searching:

forces me to a credit card page, disappointing => https://www.codecademy.com/learn/build-interactive-websites

    just leads to a 3.5 hour YouTube video=> https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/learn-javascript-full-course/

but was wondering if the community has some other suggestions.

  9. I have made no changes to my account, none at all. It just stopped receiving emails.

I have multiple accounts, one personal and the other for business. It is my business account (G Suite) that I do not receive emails for. There is no method of seeking help because all my queries lead no where.

    Is anyone else having troubles?

Found the problem, silly me. Used this tool (https://mxtoolbox.com/) to realize I didn't have the MX setting set with DigitalOcean (my host).

The "FrontendUser" is outdated ? Last Update 2016...

But that's kind of the similar case as many of the Modules, with their last updates being years old.

Are they no longer being updated because the developer lost interest in updating it?

OR they work perfectly well still, with no need to update? lol, it could go both ways.

It's a pleasant surprise when I test out an old module and it works perfectly with the later version of PW ❤️
