  1. I created this module a while ago and never got around to publicising it, but it has been outed in the latest PW Weekly so here goes the support thread... Unique Image Variations Ensures that all ImageSizer options and focus settings affect image variation filenames. Background When using methods that produce image variations such as Pageimage::size(), ProcessWire includes some of the ImageSizer settings (height, width, cropping location, etc) in the variation filename. This is useful so that if you change these settings in your size() call a new variation is generated and you see this variation on the front-end. However, ProcessWire does not include several of the other ImageSizer settings in the variation filename: upscaling cropping, when set to false or a blank string interlace sharpening quality hidpi quality focus (whether any saved focus area for an image should affect cropping) focus data (the top/left/zoom data for the focus area) This means that if you change any of these settings, either in $config->imageSizerOptions or in an $options array passed to a method like size(), and you already have variations at the requested size/crop, then ProcessWire will not create new variations and will continue to serve the old variations. In other words you won't see the effect of your changed ImageSizer options on the front-end until you delete the old variations. Features The Unique Image Variations module ensures that any changes to ImageSizer options and any changes to the focus area made in Page Edit are reflected in the variation filename, so new variations will always be generated and displayed on the front-end. Installation Install the Unique Image Variations module. In the module config, set the ImageSizer options that you want to include in image variation filenames. Warnings Installing the module (and keeping one or more of the options selected in the module config) will cause all existing image variations to be regenerated the next time they are requested. If you have an existing website with a large number of images you may not want the performance impact of that. The module is perhaps best suited to new sites where image variations have not yet been generated. Similarly, if you change the module config settings on an existing site then all image variations will be regenerated the next time they are requested. If you think you might want to change an ImageSizer option in the future (I'm thinking here primarily of options such as interlace that are typically set in $config->imageSizerOptions) and would not want that change to cause existing image variations to be regenerated then best to not include that option in the module config after you first install the module. https://github.com/Toutouwai/UniqueImageVariations https://modules.processwire.com/modules/unique-image-variations/

  2. Hello guys Though times. Hope this is ok to post here. I'm currently looking for a new job here in Switzerland. I have over 20 years of experience in web development. I'm specialised in front-end HTML5, CSS, JS and backend (PW of course). I also have strong visual design skills. If anyone has a tip or knows a good address, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any help you could provide. Soma

  3. OK, due to the popular demand towards this feature it's been added to v2.0.14 ? Some changes: the new suffix contains the field type (eg. "Textarea"), and the inputfield class if it's different from it (eg. "CKEditor") the optional inputfieldClass is not added if it's the language variant (to avoid situations like "excerpt - TextareaLanguage (Textarea)" on the right side of the bars the original field type string is removed (before the percentage) not to display it twice

  4. Actually having the field type appended to the name is quite handy when used together with the "add search box to asmSelect" feature because field types can also be searched. So for example you can easily find CroppableImage3 image o CKEditor fields, etc, which is a huge help when there are a lot of fields.

  5. Version 3.0.127 contains almost 30 new commits, the majority of which are focused on resolving older issue reports. For more details on those commits, see the commit log. This latest version on the dev branch also adds a couple of new features that you might find useful. Specifically, two new Page status flags: “unique” and “flagged”. Below we’ll go into more detail about what these are and how to use them. https://processwire.com/pw-3.0.127/

  7. If you @Melvin Suter or everyone else wants to play around with a recipe site profile: https://github.com/webmanufaktur/pwrecipes It's by far not complete or a ready-made website but it shows some things I mentioned in first anwer here.

  8. What do you think about appending the field type to the Fields asmSelect list options? I often don't remember the type by the name so it would come handy. However, since it's a plain select HTML element it cannot be styled and in the rendered asmSelect the type appears twice (also at the end of the bars).

  9. NOTE: This thread originally started in the Pub section of the forum. Since we moved it into the Plugin/Modules section I edited this post to meet the guidelines but also left the original content so that the replies can make sense. ProcessGraphQL ProcessGraphQL seamlessly integrates to your ProcessWire web app and allows you to serve the GraphQL api of your existing content. You don't need to apply changes to your content or it's structure. Just choose what you want to serve via GraphQL and your API is ready. Warning: The module supports PHP version >= 5.5 and ProcessWire version >= 3. Links: Zip Download Github Repo ScreenCast PW modules Page Please refer to the Readme to learn more about how to use the module. Original post starts here... Hi Everyone! I became very interested in this GraphQL thing lately and decided to learn a bit about it. And what is the better way of learning a new thing than making a ProcessWire module out of it! For those who are wondering what GraphQL is, in short, it is an alternative to REST. I couldn't find the thread but I remember that Ryan was not very happy with the REST and did not see much value in it. He offered his own AJAX API instead, but it doesn't seem to be supported much by him, and was never published to official modules directory. While ProcessWire's API is already amazing and allows you to quickly serve your content in any format with less than ten lines of code, I think it might be convenient to install a module and have JSON access to all of your content instantly. Especially this could be useful for developers that use ProcessWire as a framework instead of CMS. GraphQL is much more flexible than REST. In fact you can build queries in GraphQL with the same patterns you do with ProcessWire API. Ok, Ok. Enough talk. Here is what the module does after just installing it into skyscrapers profile. It supports filtering via ProcessWire selectors and complex fields like FieldtypeImage or FieldtypePage. See more demo here The module is ready to be used, but there are lots of things could be added to it. Like supporting any type of fields via third party modules, authentication, permissions on field level, optimization and so on. I would love to continue to develop it further if I would only know that there is an interest in it. It would be great to hear some feedback from you. I did not open a thread in modules section of the forum because I wanted to be sure there is interest in it first. You can install and learn about it more from it's repository. It should work with PHP >=5.5 and ProcessWire 3.x.x. The support for 2.x.x version is not planned yet. Please open an issue if you find bugs or you want some features added in issue tracker. Or you can share your experience with the module here in this thread.

  10. A simple module to enable easy navigation between the public and the admin side of the site. After installation a green bar will appear to the upper side of the screen, containing a few navigation elements and displaying the PW version number. Heavily inspired by @apeisa's great AdminBar (Thanks!). I needed a bit simpler tool for my projects and as a result, this was made. Available on GitHub .

  11. Easiest, fastest, most reliable framework. Considering my workload this past weeks, I'm considering on switching. It supports a wide range of applications:

  12. Unfortunately the getMotationHook requires you to use the Youshido/GraphQL library that this module depends on. The issue with it, is that the youshido/graphql is not maintained anymore. Which means that I'll be rewriting GraphQL module to get red of it and use some other library. So I can't give you the correct solution because it's being deprecated at the moment, and I can't tell when I'll finish the migration to another php graphql library because I'm limited with my spare time. Sorry for replying this late, I hope you found a solution.

  14. @Autofahrn I don't really understand the code above well enough to know how to answer your question specifically, but one thing that jumps out to me is that you are interacting with POST data here, and that's something you want to avoid if possible. I looked in InputfieldPageListSelect and it doesn't have any getConfigInputfields() method of its own so I don't think it is adding anything here, instead, that method in InputfieldSelect is what you'd want to look at, particularly the part where it skips out early if the Inputfield isn't connected with a Fieldtype: if($this->hasFieldtype !== false) return $inputfields; . I would also try and use TracyDebugger with those bd() calls after your $cfg->set() to see what you are setting just to be sure.

  15. @PWaddict, if I understand right you want to set a limit of zero items. I added support for this in v0.1.6.

  16. There is one actually, sort of. Look at the 'images' field in a multilingual setup. As you are aware, for truly (I use this word reservedly) multilingual fields, each language has to have its own column. That makes it easy to search the columns in the language you want. However, in your case, since you want only one column to have multilingual features, you have two choices ( + a 3rd not very good one): Go the route of images fields. In a multilingual setup, the description column of an image field holds each languages' value, saved as JSON. E.g. {"0":"We're gonna need a bigger terminal.","1012":"Wir brauchen einen größeren Terminal.","1013":"Me tarvitsemme isomman päätteen."}. The index of the values are the language ID. In this case, 0= English, 1012=German and 1013=Finnish.The trade off here is searching in one language is limited. Change your database design pattern. No need to cram things in if they don't fit ?. Let your subject be its own multilingual field and let your other single value data live in their own non-multilingual field. Nothing wrong with that. I mention this 3rd option hesitantly. Stick with one field as your are doing but for your data (subject) column create a lookup table for other languages. I am no DB guru but the little I know tells me this 3rd option is not a good design at all.

  17. Hi everyone, Just released v4.18 this morning which comes with the new Tracy core v2.6 I have managed to retain PHP 5.4.4+ support for now. If you are running PHP 7.1+ you will get the new Tracy core, otherwise you'll be using the old 2.5 branch. I decided not to ditch < 7.1 just yet because Debian stable still ships with 7.0. Here's the list of changes: 1) New multiple AJAX debug bars This allows you to see more than one consecutive AJAX call. There is a new module setting that controls the number of AJAX bars (default 3). Adjust this if you need, but keep in mind that you don't want lots of bars stacking up as you navigate around the PW admin where opening menu items / pages are all AJAX calls. This new feature also means that the AJAX dumps panel no longer needs to store consecutive dumps, but if you still want that, then the Dumps Recorder panel will do that. 2) BarDump (bd) and barDumpBig (bdb) calls now use LIVE This feature was always not quite right in the Tracy core, but it has been rebuilt and is now the default for these calls. This makes the dumping of large / multiple objects 10x faster. It also means that we can probably increase the default maxDepth setting and increase the value for the barDumpBig even further. I haven't made these changes yet, but I am going to start testing here and see how it goes. This means that there is no longer a need for the barDumpLive (bdl) method, so this has been removed. 3) Lots of other minor/rare bug fixes and improvements Nothing worth mentioning specifically, but definitely worth having ? There will likely be more improvements to these new core features coming pretty soon, so I'll make sure we stay up to date with those also. Let me know if you notice any problems. Cheers!

  19. I've been using shared hosting without any problems. Unless you're developing a big project with very specific needs, you should be fine going that way.
