ProCacheMinifyHTML::convertURLs() method

Convert URLs from absolute to relative where shorter

This is an optional extra minification function that can be applied after minify(). It can significantly shorten URLs by making them relative rather than absolute. However, it can also create issues, particularly when viewing a page that lacks a trailing slash when it was cached with a trailing slash, or the opposite.

Usage

// basic usage
$proCacheMinifyHTML->convertURLs(string $html, string $rootURL, string $currentURL);

// usage with all arguments
$proCacheMinifyHTML->convertURLs(string $html, string $rootURL, string $currentURL, string $attr = 'href');

Arguments

NameType(s)Description
htmlstring

HTML to apply conversion to

rootURLstring

Root/base URL for the site (i.e. "/" or "/my-site/", etc.)

currentURLstring

URL of page currently being viewed

attr (optional)string

Attribute to convert (i.e. "href" or "src")

“Indeed, if ProcessWire can be considered as a CMS in its own right, it also offers all the advantages of a CMF (Content Management Framework). Unlike other solutions, the programmer is not forced to follow the proposed model and can integrate his/her ways of doing things.” —Guy Verville, Spiria Digital Inc.
