I create a new role "media" that has only "view" access permission.

I create a new user "media" , and when on the profile page the new "media" role doesn't show up in the role list.

I add "edit" permission to the "media" role. It suddenly appears in the role list so I can add it to the user. After removing the "edit" permission again from the media role, it stays there.

I just tried to duplicate but couldn't get that behavior unless I left the role unpublished. An unpublished role isn't meant to show up as an option. When you created the 'media' role, did you click the publish button?

there's a publish button? Ok I'm guilty! :D :D

While at it, it always looks strange when creating roles, users, permission that is says "Add new page" ...

What version of PW are you running? :) It should just say "Add New" in the button. Though the button did used to say "Add New Page."

No, when clicking add new, on the screen where you enter the title in the title on top.

I'm running quite latest PW from 1-2 weeks ago.
