Detroit Skyscrapers

Cadillac Centre is a proposed contemporary complex to be constructed in downtown Detroit, Michigan on the Monroe block of Campus Martius. In January 2008, the city announced that the complex was approved for construction with groundbreaking planned for September 2009, but the project was placed on hold indefinitely due to an economic recession.

The Cass Building is an office building at the corner of Cass and Fort Street, at 455 W. Fort Street in Detroit, Michigan. It is also known as Detroit's Work Place. The unique looking structure is designed in the International style, and is distinctive for its curtain wall facade of glass. The building currently houses several employment agencies, daycare providers and Neighborhood Legal Services, which focus on meeting the needs of local Detroit residents.

The Michigan Mutual Liability Company Complex is located in Foxtown, along West Elizabeth Street and West Adams Avenue, between Woodward Avenue and Park Avenue, just across Adams Ave. from Grand Circus Park, in downtown Detroit, Michigan. The two buildings that make up the complex are the Grand Park Centre and Michigan Mutual Liability Annex, which are connected via a skyway.

The Hammond Building was Detroit's first skyscraper. It has since been demolished, to be replaced by the Bank One Building (Now named the Chase Tower). The location of the former building is at the corner of Griswold Street and West Fort Street, in downtown. The high-rise building was constructed in 1889, and destroyed in 1956 to make way for the National Bank of Detroit Building.

The Wright-Kay Building, originally the Schwankovsky Temple of Music, is one of the oldest buildings in downtown Detroit, Michigan. It was completed in 1891, and sat on the growing fringe of Detroit's Woodward Ave. It is between Grand Circus Park and Campus Martius Park, at the corner of Woodward and John R. It was later used by the founders of Wright-Kay jewelry from 1920 to 1978. Its current use includes a nightclub on the first floor with offices and residential units above.

The Wayne County Building is a lowrise government tower in Detroit, Michigan. It stands at 600 Randolph Street, and contains the Wayne County administrative offices, and once contained its courthouse. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. Detroit architect John Scott designed the building which stands 5 floors.

The Charlevoix Building is an unused building in downtown Detroit, Michigan, United States, and one of the oldest standing structures in the city. The building is located at 2033 Park Avenue, in the Foxtown neighbourhood. It stands next to the Park Apartments, and across the street from the Kales Building. This is one of Detroit's oldest standing structures, built in 1905, standing at 12 floors in height.

The Penobscot Block is a complex of office towers centered around the 45-story Penobscot Building at the corner of Griswold Street and West Fort Street in Downtown Detroit, Michigan. The other two buildings in the complex are the Penobscot Building (youngest of the three), Penobscot Annex, and The Penobscot Building (oldest of the three).

The Hotel Tuller once stood at Adams Avenue West, Bagley Street, and Park Avenue across from Grand Circus Park in downtown Detroit, Michigan. It was one of the largest luxury hotels in Detroit, and the first one to be erected in the Grand Circus Park Historic District. The hotel was known as the "grand dame of Grand Circus Park." The site is now the location of a gravel parking lot next to the United Artists Theatre Building.

The Ford Building is a high-rise office building standing at 615 Griswold Street, in downtown Detroit, Michigan. It is located at the northwest corner of the intersection between Congress Street and Griswold Street in the heart of Detroit's Financial District. Next door sits the Penobscot Building, and across Griswold St. dwells the Guardian Building. Designed by Daniel Burnham, it was built in 1907 and finished in 1909. It celebrated its 100th year of existence in 2009.
