The German-Polish Science Foundation (DPWS) was set up to promote science and international understanding by strengthening cooperation between students, scientists and researchers from Germany and Poland. By promoting scientific projects, it helps to develop basic principles and findings that promote mutual understanding and understanding between Germans and Poles. The DPWS supports innovative projects in both countries and new models of cooperation. It promotes German-Polish cooperation projects in the fields of humanities, culture, law, social and economic sciences.
